MSI GE66 Raider 10UG-211 15.6″ 300Hz 3ms Gaming Laptop Intel Core i7-10870H RTX3070 32GB 1TB NVMe SSD Win10 VR Ready
The MSI GE66 Raider 10UG-211 has a lot of good components up to its sleeve. In fact, it puts MSI’s offering of some of the best gaming laptops at great prices. The company’s premium machines – and some entry-level ones – can sometimes get ahead of the competition on power and design, saving for some who fail to deliver the full package as demanded by modern gaming laptops.
With the MSI GE66 Raider packing new technology and components, it seems that the company has managed to put together one of the best gaming powerhouses of the year. We are particularly interested in the 10th generation Intel Core i7 processor, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, and Nvidia’s RTX 3070 graphics card.
It all comes at a price, though. Not a high price considering packing the hardware inside, but out of the reach of many budget gamers. Furthermore, such glasses would be overkill for a lot of people. However, for the money, you are getting an incredibly powerful gaming laptop with a gorgeous design.

The MSI GE66 Raider is definitely a gaming laptop, and the design says it all. However, unlike the MSI GE75 Raider, the Raider GE66 has designed the game to have a minimalist design – not only highly refined but with a well-developed aesthetic that makes it easily distinguishable as a gaming machine.
With the new components, you are getting a new design – a sleek color blue finish with angular shells at the bottom. Measuring 0.92 x 14.09 x 10.51 inches and weighing 5.25 pounds, this is neither a slim laptop, nor is it portable to compete with the Asus Zephyrus G15, but you can still carry it around.
The 15.6-inch 1080p screen is surrounded by 5mm bezels, with a screen-to-body ratio of 82%, which is exactly what gaming laptops do. The screen boasts a 300Hz refresh rate, with 100% sRGB coverage, resulting in good color reproduction that you appreciate while running modern color or productivity tasks.
The GE66 Raider packs Duo Wave speakers that are of a redesigned design and provide decent sound, but you may need one of the Fine PC headsets for gaming.
Port selection is excellent, especially with the inclusion of two USB-C ports, and the available HDMI port supports 4K at 60fps (reportedly). Here are the port options available:
- Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 2 × 2 Port
- Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 2 with DP 1.4
- Type-A USB 3.2 Gen 2
- 2 x Type-A USB 3.2 Gen 1
- HDMI 2.0
- Mini Display 1.4
- Audio combo jack
- SD card reader
Wireless connectivity comes in the way of the Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 and Bluetooth 5.2. Here’s how you get online:
- Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 (2 * 2)
- Bluetooth 5.2
- Killer E3100 Gigabit Ethernet
Keyboard & Touchpad
The keyboard feels fine and is well-spaced. However, you may have to match this keyboard with the best gaming keyboard and a pointer, which can match the best gaming mouse, because the keyboard here is fine. The touchpad is fine, and nothing is more special than what is found on mainstream laptops.
As with all 15-inch gaming laptops, due to the compact design and low activation of keys, it is possible to button and mispronounce. There is an LED bar at the front (MSI calls it Mystic Light) that looks cool, and the RGB effect dominates the keyboard, giving you a sense of ambient gaming.
Gaming & Graphics Performance
We certainly have no complaints about the performance of the MSI GE66 Raider, as it can keep up with most gaming and productivity demands. As you expect the MSI Raider to be a high-powered laptop with the spec list (and price) that comes with it, when it comes to performance, it is a complete beast.
Our MSI GE66 Raider Review Unit accompanies the RTX 3070 Laptop GPU from Nvidia and is as of now perhaps the most impressive gaming GPU you can discover on a laptop.
1080p, MSI GE66 Raider 10UG-211 Gaming Laptop can easily handle even the most demanding of games. At ultra settings, Metro Exodus scored an amazing 71.11 fps, furnishing an outwardly staggering involvement in margarine smooth play.
If you are playing less demanding games, you can also use the higher screen refresh rates of the MSI GE66 Raider
It includes RTX cards, ray tracing, and DLSS support, and if you’re satisfied with playing in 1080p, it guarantees a great gaming experience that very few gaming laptops will be able to match.
When there is no gaming, the imagination we have here is also great for digital creatives. The 10th-generation Intel Core i7-10870H processor on the MSI GE66 gives a solid performance, and 32GB of RAM is going to be overkill for anyone who buys this laptop only to play games. However, many apps open simultaneously for multitasking – or playing games and streaming them live on Twitch, for example – MSI Raider turns out to be an efficient workstation.
With a built-in memory card reader and 1 TB SSD storage, photographers and digital creatives will be impressed by the 100% Adobe RGB coverage that the screen provides. This makes the colors look bright, vibrant, and, most importantly, the most accurate. This alone will not benefit digital creatives, however, games and movies look awesome on this screen as well.
While the MSI Raider actually excels in several areas, one space he struggles to impress is battery life – and this is often not a surprise.
With powerful components such as the RTX 3070 graphics card, battery life is always going to be on the short side. The 94-Whr 4-cell battery pack won’t last more than 2 hours when gaming, and about 5 to 6 hours on normal usage – web browsing, listening to music and documenting.
This is very bad for a laptop in this day and age, and it only means that you are going to need to plug this machine in while you are using it. As a desktop replacement laptop, this is a great option, but if you seriously need a laptop while running – it may not be.
Our Rating | Excellent
The MSI GE66 Raider 10UG-211 may have an average price, but the MSI places more value on its high-power gaming laptops than ever before. If you exhaust the necessary money, you will rest on the fact that you are taking home the entire gaming laptop package.
- Extremely powerful
- Grand show
- Great performance in 1080p
- Lots of ports
- Short battery life
- Not the most portable
The Best i7 Processor Gaming Laptop MSI GE66 Raider is MSI’s best gaming laptop ever. Both huge images and productivity performance are significantly better.
MSI took this opportunity to refresh the shining issue of an all-too-familiar design in a new and stylish design. Although the design is not very portable, we welcome almost essential features (beauty and power) – especially at this price point.
Once again, it may be one of the highest-priced laptops, but MSI has clearly gone to great depth to pack as much value in the Raider GE66, which makes it worth your hard-earned cash. Enough to make it worth it. If you are eliminating the required thousand for the MSI GE66 Raider 10UG-211, make sure you are taking home an excellent full package.
