Razer Kaira Pro Wireless Gaming Headset for Xbox Series X | S: TriForce Titanium 50mm Drivers – Supercardioid Mic – Dedicated Mobile Mic – EQ and Xbox Pairing – Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth 5.0 – Black

The Best Pro Wireless Gaming Headset Razer Kaira Pro presents something of a puzzle for pro-gear-hungry gamers. On one hand, just about every Xbox accessory works fine with Microsoft’s new consoles, the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S. There is no real reason to buy fancy new gadgets. On the other hand, if you’re not going to purchase fancy new gadgets at the console launch, when are you going to do it? The Razer Kaira Pro makes a very compelling case to shell out an additional $ 150.

This wireless headset has good sound quality, comfortable fit, convenient design, and helpful Bluetooth functionality, all for $ 150: the going rate for mid-range wireless gaming headsets. While it does not work with the PS5 or Switch, it pairs beautifully with any Xbox console, as well as PCs and mobile devices.

If anything prevents me from disqualifying Razer Kaira Pro, it is that Bluetooth functionality can be both a blessing and a curse. Using peripherals with PCs and mobiles is not as comfortable as it could be, and your tweaking options are much more limited than other Razer headsets. Nevertheless, the Kaira Pro is one of the best gaming headsets for Xbox owners, especially in the market for wireless models.

Design

The Best Pro Wireless Gaming Headset Razer Kaira Pro is yet another example of how the design of a Razer headset has improved in 2020. Although the company used to produce nothing but huge and heavy models, its recent headsets have been very sleek, light, and easy on the eyes. The Razer Kaira Pro features a beautiful green-black color scheme with oval memory foam earcups and a generously padded steel headband. With a delicious razor logo on each side of the device, these make the headset look both distinctive and elegant.

Another feather in the cap of the Razer Kaira Pro is that it evenly distributes functionality across its two ears. There is a game/chat mix dial, along with the right earcup house pairing and Bluetooth buttons. While tilted to the left, you’ll find a mic mute button, a volume dial, a power button, a USB-C charging port, and a removable, flexible mic. I wish the game/chat mixer had physical stopping points instead of electronic beeps when you reached a limit, but otherwise, it is a very sensitive design.

My only complaint here is that while the earcups fold the flat for easy transport, the swivel is a bit clearer. Shock the headset even a little bit, and the earcups will come out from all over the place. It is not too much of a concern when they are sitting comfortably on your head, but it makes it a little harder to get a good seal.

Comfort

The Best Pro Wireless Gaming Headset Razer Kaira Pro is extremely comfortable to wear for a long time thanks to its soft, breathable earcups and cushioned headband.

I used it as my work headset for a day, then played the hour Yakuza Zero on the Xbox Series X, and never experienced any discomfort, even on my glasses. In terms of fit, you can accommodate numbered notches on a steel headband, which is a bit old-school, but also quite silly.

Performance

I tested the Pro Wireless Gaming Headset Razer Kaira Pro with a variety of games on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and the first thing I can confirm is that it works fine with each system. The other thing I can confirm is that it looks great regardless of style. I was particularly pleased with how it handled Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, balancing the crackling gunfire with instant, screaming dialogue.

Razer Kaira Pro did a fine job with Mentor’s relentless kissing, Yakuba’s intense karaoke, and the blasphemous score of blasphemy, providing a strong and immediate soundscape across the board. My only complaint is that Bass was understood. This is appropriate in the case of most gaming headsets, but it is always a bit disappointing when you make changes to movies and music.

Talking of music, Razer Kaira Pro has Fogging Molly, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Rolling Stones, and G.F. Handel. As discussed, the bass could have been stronger, but the vocals and instruments all looked clean, with no distortion or finesse.

Features

The Bluetooth functionality of the Razer Kaira Pro is theoretically one of the best things about the headset. Historically, Xbox wireless headsets have been hard-selling; After all, do you really want to spend $ 150 on a headset that works with only one console? (Or a $ 25 PC adapter.) Offering the Razer Kaira Pro Bluetooth functionality, the razor ensured that the headset can work with your PC, mobile devices, and streaming gadgets as well.

However, there is a significant problem with this setup, and there is no simple solution to it. The way the Xbox wireless protocol is designed, every time you start the Razer Kaira Pro headset, your Xbox will also start. If you want to boot your Xbox with your Razer Kaira Pro, but a royal pain if you just want to use a headset with another system. Every time you start a headset, you have to manually turn off your Xbox, or invest in another pair of Bluetooth headphones. Neither option is great.

Bluetooth itself works fine, however, there is built-in Xbox wireless functionality. Pairing is effortless (one button on the Xbox and another hit on the Razer Kaira Pro), and battery life is inactive: with 15 hours of earcup lights turned on, and up to 20 without them. Mike is also about what you expect for a mid-range gaming headset: a bit quieter on pickup, but clear enough for other conversations.

One thing to keep in mind is that Razer Kaira Pro does not work with razor synapse software on PCs. This means no surround sound, no equalization profile, and no mic volume option. This is not an uncommon omission in a console-based headset, but the Carrara Pro seems nonetheless limited compared to something like the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro.

Razer Kaira Pro vs. Razer Kaira: What’s the Difference?

In addition to the $ 150 Razer Kaira Pro, the company has also excluded the $ 100 Razer Kaira Pro. This bare-bones version of the Razer Kaira Pro retains the Xbox wireless coupling and general design but leaves Bluetooth, removable mikes, and extremely sensitive drivers.

I used to run the standard Razer Kaira through tests similar to the Razer Kaira Pro. The sound quality is fine, the fit is comfortable and the pairing is comfortable. But the non-removable mic is a huge nuisance because it will always be somewhere in your peripheral vision. The lack of Bluetooth also severely limits the functionality of the headset.

If you can buy Razer Kaira Pro, then you should go with it. But if you have a tough limit for a $ 100 wireless Xbox headset, then the standard Razer Kaira will get the job done.

Our Rating | Excellent

The Razer Kaira Pro is a clean, comfortable, intuitive gaming headset for the Xbox Series X / S, although it does work occasionally even when it is harmful.

Pros

  • Very comfortable
  • Good sound
  • Is ideal for Xbox consoles
  • Sleek design

Cons

  • Bluetooth inconveniences
  • Few customization options

Conclusion

Our Razer Kaira Pro review discussed the headset’s good sound, comfortable fit, and easy Xbox pairing. The Bluetooth functionality of the peripheral is a double-edged sword, but generally speaking, it’s a nice feature. And as long as the Razer Kaira Pro’s customization options aren’t as rich as you find on PC headsets, they should be fine for console gaming purposes.

In the same price range, the Corsair HS75XB is extremely similar, and the SteelSeries Arctis 7X is more versatile but neither better nor worse. Consider all three, and if you go with the Razer Kaira Pro, know that you’re going to be the most stylish of the bunch.
